Linen tailors in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)

For a linen suit, Peak Saigon leans towards an Italian look, with double-breasted linen suits, linen shirts and trousers, and fabric bunches from Loro Piana and Lanificio Cerruti. One customer's double-breasted linen suit there needed only one fitting. V.Man Tailor and Markus and Co also make suits in wool or linen, and suit prices reported across these 38 shops run from US$100 to US$800.

Linen shirts, sets and dresses cost less than a suit. A two-piece linen set at TuyetLan Orchids Tailor cost around 3,500,000 VND (about US$140), and at Viet Thanh Silk one customer paid around 4,500,000 VND for a double-layered linen dress and shorts together. Truc Lam Tailor copied three linen shirts in 36 hours for about £50, and at Sakura Tailor two custom dresses, one of them in linen, came to 2,300,000 VND. Bringing a garment or a photo to copy is common at TuyetLan, Truc Lam and Namsilk Tailor.

If the order runs late, ask about delivery before you pay. When a public holiday delayed one reviewer's linen trousers at Binh Tailor, the shop shipped them on after the customer left, and Simon Silhouette delivered a linen suit to a hotel in Hanoi. In all, 17 of the 38 ship internationally and 28 include adjustments until the fit is right.
